About Course

The course is based on 2 modules

This is a one-day course that ends with an assessment. If you are considering taking the Door Supervisor or Security Officer training courses, we recommend including first aid training at a reduced cost.

However, the cost of taking the one-day Emergency First Aid training as a stand-alone course has been cut from £90 to £60.

Description: Emergency First Aid at work:
From April 1, 2021, learners doing their Door Supervision or Security Guard training for the first time must demonstrate that they have a current and valid First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate.

This must meet the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations of 1981.

Training facilities must certify that each student is adequately qualified in First Aid or Emergency First Aid.

If you have already finished a first aid course, you must produce your First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate to us before beginning training. This certificate must be valid for at least 12 months following the start of the course.

Emergency First Aid at Work certification covers the following outcomes and understanding the responsibility of the first aider, including:

Topics Covered:

  • Assessing emergency situations and responding appropriately.
  • Managing unresponsive casualties and ensuring their safety.
  • Administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using automated external defibrillators (AEDs) effectively.
  • Dealing with breathing difficulties, choking incidents, and providing immediate assistance.
  • Responding to common medical conditions such as heart attacks and strokes.
  • Controlling bleeding, managing wounds, and recognizing signs of shock.
  • Recording incidents accurately and maintaining proper documentation.

Practical Assessment:
Participants are assessed on their ability to apply first aid skills in practical scenarios. Trained instructors observe participants as they demonstrate techniques like CPR, the use of AEDs, management of bleeding or shock, and other relevant first aid procedures. They provide feedback, and guidance, and evaluate participants’ competency in applying correct procedures effectively.

Emergency First Aid at Work Course Certification:

On successful completion of the EFAW course, you will receive an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate. The certificate is valid for three years and must be renewed if you wish to continue to act as a first aider in the workplace.
